ENDORSE
ENDORSE - External and Regional Perspectives on the EU
This proposed module, titled "ENDORSE - External and Regional Perspectives on the EU", aims to develop undergraduate-level curricula composed of three complementary modules: The European Union's Foreign Policy and the Middle East, The European Union, its Member States, and The EU and NATO.
Through the development and implementation of diverse pedagogical tools, such as interviews, study visits, policy analysis, and guest lectures, the module intends to equip the students with relevant competencies to engage in informed discussions about the EU and with the ability to apply critical thinking while discussing the EU and its role in an ever-changing world.
Importantly, by integrating an EU-driven core curriculum, the module wishes to fortify EU Studies within the departmental study program, inviting an ever-increasing number of students to study the EU and its politics and increase the awareness of the centrality of the EU as a political entity.
The proposed modules will explore the historical, political, and social factors shaping the EU's transformation and its impact on its role as an international actor, analyze the complexities of EU-Middle East relations, examine historical developments, contemporary challenges, and prospects, investigate the role of multilateral organizations, in international diplomacy and their relevance to Israel both nationally and super-nationally.
To this end, the module will create an inviting academic environment, which includes interaction with experts, policy shapers and makers, practitioners, politicians, researchers, and other relevant civil society stakeholders. It is anticipated that by the end of the module, participants will have developed an enhanced understanding of the complex dynamics within the EU, be able to critically assess the EU's diplomatic strategies and approaches, and develop an awareness of the role of multilateral organizations in international diplomacy and their significance for Israel.
