HOPE - Higher Education for Openness, Peace, and Empathy

HOPE is a collaborative initiative involving universities from Europe (Greece, Germany and Israel) engaging integrated universities in which both Hebrew and Arab communities coexist). It aims to change the attitudes and emotions of Israeli Jews towards the Israeli Arabs and vise versa and thus increase the chance’s of peace education’s success. It targets building sustainable peace education curricula and research efforts.

 

The project aims to foster a constructive conflict resolution (CCR) culture through a multifaceted approach encompassing research, teaching, anduniversitymanagement. It aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 (Peace), SDG 4.7 (Education for Peace), and SDG 17 (Partnerships). This initiative is designed to enhance the capacity of participating universities to implement and promote the peace agenda, providing faculty, staff, and students with skills and a culture of constructive conflict resolution and fostering cooperation between universities to amplify their societal impact.
