What is Erasmus+

 

What is Erasmus+?
 
Erasmus+ Programme is the EU’s programme supporting education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
 
The main objectives promoted by the programme are:
  • Boost employability among young people
  • Allow young people to acquire new skills needed in the labour market
  • Support Innovation, cooperation and intercultural understanding
  • Increase cooperation and development between Higher Education systems around the globe.
Erasmus+ in Israel
Israel is a Partner Country to the programme and therefore the following actions are open for participation to Israeli Institutions.

Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals
This Key Action provides different opportunities for students and staff to gain professional or learning experience abroad. Under this Action, students and staff can apply also for training, and teaching opportunities.
Moreover, this Key Action supports not only mobility, but also high-level integrated international programmes called Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees. These programmes delivered by consortia of higher education institutions that award scholarships to the best master students worldwide.


Key Action 2: Cooperation Among Organizations and Institutions
The aim of this Action is to provide platform that enables exchange of knowledge and working together in partnership. Organisations could initiate innovative programmes that promote creativity, employability multidisciplinary teaching and learning. In addition, this Action encourages capacity-building projects with Partner Countries that foster internationalisation process.


Key Action 3: Support to Policy Development and Cooperation
This Key Action covers activities that support policy reform across the EU in the fields of education, training and youth. This Action promotes stakeholder dialogue in order to facilitate and modernise the higher education system.


Jean Monnet Activities
Jean Monnet Activities support academic institutions to build curriculum in European Integration Studies. The main objective is to promote, monitor and encourage research with EU content.  Jean Monnet Activities provide also grants to institutions that show an interest in European Union subjects, and provide new insights on this field.

 

Sport
Erasmus+ Sport aims to encourage participation in sport and physical activity and implementation of the EU guidelines on dual career of athletes. These partnerships promote social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport.

 

The programme launches a yearly call for proposal "the programme guide."
